Ethnicity, major problem in Nigeria – ADC House of Rep candidate

House of Representatives candidate on the platform of African Democratic Congress, Mr Arinze Chris,  has said that the major problem causing a major setback for Nigeria as a nation is ethnicity.

Arinze, who hopes to represent Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos, said Nigeria, under President Muhammadu Buhari,  has experienced serious ethnic division, unlike other governments.

“Nigeria has been divided under APC than under any other government. We have to be united and I have stated that one thing we need to do so as to be united is remove the state of origin from our curriculum vitae and certificate because, electricity issues, corruption and the likes are not the problem of this country but ethnicity. When we look beyond ethnicity and federalism and towards a united Nigeria, we will achieve everything needed within the twinkling of an eye,” he said.

On his plans to ameliorate the conditions of residents of his constituency, Arinze said he was ready to turn Ikorodu into a major food source of the nation.

“Actually, ADC is a very friendly party, when you look at the icon, you will see that it is a ‘handshake’ logo that means friendliness, so there will be friendliness in the party and we will bring it into existence.

With friendliness, we can achieve a lot. Ikorodu is known as an agricultural hub in Lagos, I know that by the grace of God, when we get to Abuja, we will enact laws that will bring food security, agriculture to be the sole and great investment of the people and when everybody goes into agriculture, they will be able to feed themselves and through this, they can make it a food hub ,” he said.
