Victoria, wife of former Nigerian Head of State, Major General Jonhson Aguiyi-Ironsi, is dead.
The former First Lady was reported to have died on Monday morning at age 97.
General Aguiyi-Ironsi’s widow, who was 42 when her husband was killed in a bloody coup d’etat, refused to remarry following the tragedy.
Her husband, who was the Supreme Commander and head of the Nigerian government, was killed on July 29, 1966.
