The Governor was exchanging views with Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti and Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Obas, HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, during a physical tour of some of the affected areas and houses destroyed by the flood.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Bisi Egbeyemi, also came on a separate tour of affected areas.

Oba Ajibade Alabi thanked the Governor and his Deputy for the swift response to his distress call over the flood disaster that ravaged a section of the community yesterday.

The monarch expressed displeasure at the lack of proactiveness on the part of Ekiti South West local Government, which he said contributed in no small measure to the disaster.

The monarch advised the local Government not to allow the building of make shift plank stores on water ways and commence the sanctioning of people dumping refuse inside the drainage.

He called for the quick chanelisation and expansion of the narrow water ways throughout the community.

The monarch pleaded with the State Government to come to the immediate assistance of his people who were greatly devastated by the unfortunate incident.
