FG, States, LGs share N1.681trn April Revenue — FAAC

The Federation Account Allocation Committee has distributed a total of N1.681 trillion as revenue generated in April 2025 to the Federal Government, 36 states, and 774 local government councils across the country.

This was disclosed in a communiqué issued after the FAAC meeting held in Abuja on Friday.

According to the statement from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the shared amount comprises:

Statutory revenue of N962.882 billion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N598.077 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N38.862 billion, and Exchange Difference of N81.407 billion.

The communiqué revealed that the gross revenue available for April 2025 stood at N2.848 trillion, from which N101.051 billion was deducted for the cost of collection, and N1.066 trillion accounted for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

Gross statutory revenue for April rose to N2.085 trillion, showing an increase of N365.595 billion compared to the N1.719 trillion recorded in March 2025. Similarly, VAT revenue rose slightly from N637.618 billion in March to N642.265 billion in April an increase of N4.647 billion.

From the total distributable revenue of N1.681 trillion, allocations were made as follows:

Federal Government (N565.307 billion), State Governments (N556.741 billion), Local Government Councils (N406.627 billion) and 13% Derivation Revenue to Oil-Producing States (N152.553 billion)

Breaking down the statutory revenue of N962.882 billion, the Federal Government received N431.307 billion, States received N218.765 billion, Local governments received N168.659 billion and Oil-producing states received N144.151 billion as derivation revenue.

From the VAT pool of N598.077 billion, the Federal Government got N89.712 billion, States received N299.039 billion and Local governments received N209.327 billion.

Under the N38.862 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N5.829 billion, States got N19.431 billion, and Local Governments received N13.602 billion.

For the N81.407 billion Exchange Difference, the Federal Government received N38.459 billion, States got N19.507 billion, Local Governments received N15.039 billion and Oil-producing states got N8.402 billion as derivation revenue.

The communiqué further noted a significant increase in collections from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalties, EMTL, VAT, Excise Duty, Import Duty, and CET Levies.

However, it reported a considerable decrease in Companies Income Tax for the month under review.
