THE Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has suspended the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, indefinitely.
The accountant-general was suspended on Wednesday, following his indictment for N80 billion fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwajaren, confirmed Idris’ arrest on Monday, after he failed to honour invitations by the Commission.
The anti-graft agency said Idris allegedly diverted funds and laundered N80billion.
