The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has called on the Ministry’s top management staff to leverage their expertise to drive Nigeria’s developmental priorities and ensure economic growth.
The charge was delivered during the assumption of office by the new Permanent Secretary of Special Duties, Raymond Omenka Omachi, at the Ministry’s office in Abuja.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Jafiya, the minister highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda aimed at improving Nigerians’ quality of life.
“The reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s government are critical to the country’s economic growth and development,” Edun added, emphasising the importance of unity and dedication among Ministry staff.
Edun also praised President Tinubu for appointing the Minister of State, Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, whose contributions, he said, have been instrumental to the Ministry’s efforts in implementing economic reforms.
“Her contributions have been invaluable, and the Ministry is grateful for her dedication and expertise. I urge you all to continue to exhibit this spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and love to manage the nation’s finances in an open, transparent, accountable, and efficient manner that delivers on the country’s developmental priorities,” he said.
In his response, Raymond Omenka Omachi thanked Wale Edun and Doris Uzoka-Anite for their leadership, which he attributed with enabling the Ministry to carry out its duty.
Omachi vowed to promote open communication, creativity, and dedication inside the Ministry in order to improve service delivery and fulfil its goals.
“I am committed to working closely with the Ministry’s staff to ensure seamless service delivery while prioritizing hard work and innovation to advance our goals,” he said.
The event underscored the Ministry’s commitment to efficient financial management and strategic reforms to boost Nigeria’s economic trajectory.
