Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintri, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Announcing the governor as the winner of the PDP governorship primary, Chairman of the party’s Governorship Primaries Committee, Gavin Katabs, said Governor Fintri polled 663 of the 668 votes, with five of the votes declared invalidated.
The former Speaker of Adamawa State Assembly was the sole contestant in the primary after the screening comittee disqualified Jamil Waziri.
Giving his acceptance speech, Fintiri thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him to run for a second term of office.
He urged those who lost elections to see their defeat as an act of God and to continue to support the party to succeed as one family.
