For Sound Sultan’s 7th album, it’s a constellation of stars

  • To feature Tuface, Olamide, Flavour, Sarkodi, Patoranking, others

Nigerian musician, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan, will be dropping his seventh album next month.
The singer, who just released a single, ‘African Lady,’ featuring Flavour and Phyno, told our correspondent that the new album would have 20 songs. “On the album, I featured Sarkodi, Patoranking, Phyno, Flavour, Tuface, Olamide and a host of others.”
Sultan, speaking about his newly-released single, noted that he just wanted to have fun with his latest effort and that it came out well.
He said, “I decided to call my two eastern brothers to join me on the song. By now, people should know Sound Sultan will not associate him-self with nothing but the best. Tee-Y Mix produced the song.”
He complained that the hardship being faced by Nigerians was also reflecting on the music industry.
According to him, the present economic situation is affecting entertainers as well, but you know people will always have one or two reasons to celebrate regardless of how bad things were. Sound Sultan believes that all the songs he has done to date – over 70, are special and always well thought through.
“I attribute a lot of values to most of my songs, so I rate them equally. The only one I can single out, if I must, is ‘Jagbajantis’ because it introduced me to the world. It gave me about eight awards or so. I have over 28 awards now,” he said.
It is interesting to note that Sound Sultan inherited some music skills from his later mother. While the woman was alive, he recalled that she was a regular singer and host at wedding ceremonies.
“My dad draws a lot too. I feel the creativity has always been somewhere in the family. My brother, Baba Dee, is also a creative person,” he added.
