Former Health Minister, Osotimehin, dies

Former Minister of Health and Executive Director, United Nations Population Fund, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin, 68, is dead.

The ex-minister died on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
A statement signed by Dr. Babajide Osotimehin, said, “With gratitude to the Almighty God for a life well-spent in service to Humanity, the Babatunde Osotimehin Family of Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State of Nigeria, hereby announces the transition of our Father and Grandfather, Professor Babatunde Osotimehin OON, the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund on Sunday, 4th June, 2017 at the age of 68 years,” it read.
Osotimehin was also a former Provost of the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan and former head of National Agency for the Control of AIDS before he was appointed Minister of Health by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
