Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, is understood to have signed his contract to become Everton’s new manager with formal announcement imminent.

Lampard signed the dotted lines on Sunday during a meeting at the London offices of Everton chairman Bill Kenwright after being chosen ahead of Vitor Periera caretaker manager, Duncan Ferguson during a final round of interviews on Friday.

Also in attendance when Lampard signed his deal were agents Leon Angel, who is head of football at CAA Base, and his colleague Frank Trimboli.
The 43-year-old who has been out of management since being sacked by the Blues last January, is to take over at Goodison Park from the axed Rafa Benitez.

Reports say that Lampard impressed Toffees owner, Farhad Moshiri in his second interview and is expected to be in charge in time for next Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Brentford.
