Fresh scandals rock PDP as NWC members return ‘bribe’ secretly paid into their accounts by Ayu

Following the allegations of misappropriation of N10 billion nomination fees by the Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, fresh scandals have erupted in the opposition party as its leaders and executives have started to return funds they considered as bribe.

About six of 19 members of the party’s NWC have rejected various sums of money allegedly paid into their accounts by the national chairman.

The monies range from N28.8million to N36million depending on the position of the intended recipients.

Documents sighted by The Point on Thursday revealed that while the Deputy National Chairmen and the National Secretary secretly got N36 million wired into their accounts, other members of the committee got N28.850 million respectively.

It was further gathered that the payment, now regarded as bribe money, came on the heels of news of a N14 billion scandals rocking the party.

The money to the NWC members was transferred from the party’s account with Globus bank Ltd (1000095003).

Those who had returned the alleged Ayu’s money at press time are Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja : Deputy National Chairman South (N36 million); Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, National Woman Leader (N28 million) and Chief Dan Osi Orbih,

National Vice Chairman South-South (N28 million).
