The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has approved the elevation of 23 Readers to the position of professors.
It also approved the promotion of 285 other academic and non-teaching staff of the institution. According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, the promotion exercise was a call to greater responsibilities.
Oyewole noted that the gesture was in recognition of the dedication and contribution of the affected staff to duty in of the university. Oyewole, who is also the President of the Association of African Universities, expressed optimism that the exercise would serve as a source of motivation to the affected staff.
He further congratulated the beneficiaries and implored them to be prepared for higher
service.
In another development, the FUNAAB VC, in company of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors,
Academic, and Development, Professor Oluyemisi Eromosele and Professor Ololade Enikuomehin respectively, recently embarked on an on-the-spot-check of examination centres in the university.
