Gani Fawehinmi’s son, Mohammed, dies at 52

Mohammed Fawehinmi, son of the late erudite lawyer and activist, Gani Fawehinmi, has died at the age of 52.

The younger Fawehinmi died on Wednesday, August 11, 2021,
The Point newspaper learnt.
He was said to have complained of difficulty in breathing on Wednesday morning, and was taken to the hospital where he died.

He was a graduate of Business Administration of the University of Lagos in 1991.

Until his death, Fawehinmi was Head, Mohammed Fawehinmi Chambers, Director, Nigerian Law Publications Limited, Director, Books Industries Nigeria Limited and Director, Gani Fawehinmi Library & Gallery Limited.

Mohammed obtained a law degree from the University of Buckingham, England and was called to Nigerian bar in 1998.

He was born on February 21, 1969. He had his primary school at Kotun Memorial School, Surulere, Lagos, and his secondary education at Federal Government Colly, Sokoto.

On September 23, 2003, while returning from his father’s law firm, Mohammed had a lone car accident that confirmed him to wheelchair.

He remained unmarried, largely due to his condition, but expressed willingness to settle down if the right lady who loved him and willing to accept his condition came his way.
