The presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party in the 2015 general elections, Chief Martin Onovo, has expressed disappointment with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that Nigerians must not give room for the return of the administration in 2019.

Onovo, who was reacting to the recent massacre of residents in Benue State by suspected Fulani herdsmen and the current fuel scarcity in the country, said Nigerians must use their votes to “compulsorily retire” President Buhari in 2019.

He noted that the President’s old age was already having negative effects on his style of administration.

The NCP presidential standard bearer, while noting that many Nigerians had become weary of the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress administration, stressed that his government had become a “catastrophic failure.”

Onovo said, “This is how things have been from the very beginning. President Buhari, last year, was 75 years old. This year he will be 76. And in 2019, he will be 77 years old. He wants to go for a second term and by 2023 he would be 81 years old. You know he has spent a lot of time in the hospital even in this his first term.

“And everybody, including his supporters and APC chieftains, agree that his government is a catastrophic failure and according to Dr. Femi Aribisala, this is the worst government in Nigeria and anybody who is objective would know that Aribisala is right.

“If you look at security, Boko Haram is attacking again. Herdsmen’s attacks in Benue and Adamawa. Crime is rising everyday- robbery, kidnapping, rape and rituals. Yet, a government that has failed to perform is boasting of coming back desperately, trying to force itself back on the people. I know that their plans will fail; I repeat, their plan will fail.

“APC will be sent away from the Presidency. The Nigerian people are over 200 million. We cannot be governed by a bunch of unpatriotic persons, who want to take advantage of their mindless handling of the economy. It is very unfortunate, because even their own supporters are disappointed. Many of the APC stalwarts have called the government a monumental failure.”

Continuing, the NCP chieftain further said, “There is no way this failed government can win the heart of Nigerians again. This government will lose in the 2019 polls. We will retire Buhari compulsorily. Note, it is not voluntarily, it is compulsory retirement. He is too old and incompetent. His government is a catastrophic failure.

“He has moved the country back by 30 years and that is the reason we must retire him. He has no vision other than political domination and his government is the most corrupt- US$25billion NNPC contract scam, with the 50 billion they unlawfully kept away from the TSA, the diversion of materials meant for IDPs. Everybody knows what is happening in this country. They are looting the treasury for 2019, but their loots will not help them to secure victory at the polls. The 200 million Nigerians will retire Buhari compulsorily.”
