Nigeria’s fast growing pop artiste, Korede Bello, has cleared the air on speculations around his type of music, saying God has not called him. There had been arguments on whether he was a pop or gospel artiste.

The ‘God win’ crooner, however, informed his fans via his twitter handle that he was pleased to preach romance with his songs as he had not heard God’s voice on taking up his ministry.

“Omo Baba God never call me, so make I dey promote #romantic …” Meanwhile, the young talent has advised Nigerian youths on the need to learn to embrace pain and perseverance to succeed in their endeavours.

The 19-year-old Mavin Records singer and songwriter said this as he was conferred with a youth ambassador award by the Nigeria Police Force. He said, ”This is mega. The Nigerian Police Force has just conferred on me the honour of being the first ever Nigeria Police Youth Ambassador; I am extremely humbled, privileged to carry this great responsibility.

“This initiative by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, is his- toric. This bridges the gap between the police and the people. Security and safety are our collective responsibilities.”

The Force Public Relations Officer, Bisi Komolafe, while confirming the award to The Point on the telephone, explained that the step taken by the police was specifically to appreciate youths, who had contributed to shaping the society positively.
