Gombe govt is fooling who?

It is an insult to the good people of Gombe State that the Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Muhammadu Hassan could say that “on all projects requiring counterpart funding in the state, it was always a tug of war because of scarce resources at the disposal of government, in the face of many competing demands.”  It is sad because, while the cost of running the office of the Governor is on the increase, without benefits to the common man – the convoy of the Governor, chartered flights, awards here and there – the reverse is the case for dividends of democracy to the masses. All these perks enjoyed by the governor are not costly but what will benefit the common man is what is always costly for government to fund. Sad!
