Governor Aiyedatiwa nominates former AAUA VC, 11 others as commissioners

The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has nominated 12 new commissioners for the state.

This was contained in a statement signed and released on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

The names are said to have been sent to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.

In the letter, the governor requested the state lawmakers to take expeditious action on his request, saying, “I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear state.”

The list includes Professor of Agricultural Economics, Igbekele Ajibefun, who was formerly Rector of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

Other nominees are: Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, Ayodele Akande, Alabi Johnson, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, Dr Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, Dr Tob Loko, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, Sunday Olajide, and Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.

Reacting, Ajibefun, on Friday, said he is ready to pick up the mantle and commit his best to the endeavour.

“I consider this another call to duty in the service and interest of our dear state, and so, I’m very much prepared to give it my very best, God being my strength,” he said.
