Governor Ambode replaces Ademola as HOS

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of Mrs. Folashade Adesoye as acting Head of Service of Lagos State.

Mrs. Adesoye, who was until her appointment, was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, was to act in place of embattled HoS of the state, Mrs. Olabode Ademola, who along with her husband, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, had been accused of fraud, following a raid on their home by operatives of the Department of State Services.

Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, in a statement, Wednesday, said, “Mrs. Ademola sought permission to be excused from her duty as the Head of Service while she proved her innocence in the allegation against her.

“The governor had granted that approval and appointed an acting HoS.”

The former HoS and her husband were arraigned on an 11-count charge on Tuesday, including conspiracy to receive gratification and receiving gratification of N30 million from Joe Agi and Associates.
