Guinness sets April 25 date to announce Q3 financial results as directors meet

Guinness Nigeria Plc, a leading beverage alcohol company in Nigeria, has said its third-quarter financial results for the period ending March 31, 2024, will be made available to the NGX and other market stakeholders on April 25.

This disclosure was contained in a circular signed by the company’s legal director and secretary, Abidemi Ademola, on Thursday.

Guinness also announced a Board of Directors’ meeting scheduled to be held on April 24, 2024.

The circular read in part, “This is to notify Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the Market that a meeting of the Board of Directors of Guinness Nigeria Plc (the Company) will be held on Wednesday, 24th April 2024 for the purpose of considering and approving the financial results for the third quarter ending 31st March 2024, amongst other matters.”

Accordingly, in compliance with the NGX Rules and the Amendments to the Listing Rules, the closed period for trading in the Company’s shares by insiders will commence on the 1st of April 2024 and will expire 24 hours after the announcement of the results.

This means that no Director, person discharging managerial responsibility, employees with sensitive information and other insiders of the Company and their connected persons may directly or indirectly deal in the securities of the Company during the closed period.

Guinness Nigeria reported mixed results for the half-year that ended 31 December 2023. While the company achieved a 20 percent increase in revenue to N142.59 billion, it also posted a net loss of N4.4 billion due to a significant foreign exchange loss.
