A Professor of Social and Environmental Forestry at the University of Ibadan, Prof. Opeyemi Ajewole has been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State.
Ajewole was said to have been shot dead on Monday night, the moment he drove into his house.
The incident was confirmed by Ajewole’s colleague on Tuesday.
The lecturer said the deceased was killed by suspected hired killers at his residence in Ibadan.
“It is true. He was killed last night while returning home. They shot him and took his car. He was my friend. I just confirmed from a member of his Faculty now,” the source said.
