Naze Millionaires Heartland FC of Owerri have embarked on a fierce race against time following League Management Company’s warning and condemnation of the playing surface of the Dan Anyiam Stadium. Officials of the four-time league champions have started rehabilitating pitch in order to avoid the league body’s sanction.
The Point’s findings revealed that constant watering of the pitch has commenced.
“We hope that with the rate of the watering, the pitch will be in good shape before the expiration of the two weeks LMC gave the club,” a sports council official said.
Similarly, the Umuahia Township stadium, home ground of Abia Warriors, is undergoing similar rehabilitation.
The club is also understood to be in the hunt for an alternative venue while fixing those areas highlighted in the LMC letter continues.
