…as concert flops
For a one-time celebrated musician like Majek Fashek, one would have expected his 30 years anniversary on stage to be well crowded and sponsored by brands.
But this was not the case.
While the just held concert of Fashek was going on, his manager, Uzoma Day Omenka, came on stage to disclose that the management of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, had held his car until he paid them fully.
It was also learnt that he pleaded with people to help him beg the hotel’s management to release his car.
According to an insider, the organisers struggled to get funds and people for the concert.
“At some point, they had to ask the people who were seated at the regular section to come and fill the VIP section since it was empty,” he said.
