How our kidnappers died in auto crash while abducting us – Petty trader

But for providence and an accident, which occurred in Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State, while she and another victim were being transported by their suspected kidnappers, a petty trader, Mrs. Abosede Adebimpe, might have ended her life in the den of her abductors.

On Monday, February 26, 2018, Abosede, who sells a beans delicacy, popularly called Ewa-Agoyin and Agege bread, at the Opebi area of Lagos State, had gone to the Mile 12 Market to get some food items for her customers. She boarded a commercial bus, popularly known as Danfo.

Some passengers alighted at the popular Ketu Market, while the bus proceeded to Mile 12.  But unfortunately for Abosede and other passengers, the bus never got to their destination as it made a detour and headed to the South South part of the country.

We had boarded the bus heading to Mile 12, but somehow and mysteriously we found ourselves in Akwa-Ibom State after the bus had an accident and the police came to rescue us. Our abductors even blindfolded us before they threw us in the boot of the bus

The two men in the bus, along with the driver, were kidnappers! Abosede and two other women in the vehicle were later blindfolded and thrown into the boot of the bus.

The bus then proceeded out of Lagos, but on the way, it had a fatal accident around Ikot-Ekpene area of Akwa-Ibom State, which miraculously resulted in the death of the suspected kidnappers!

Some policemen in a patrol van and other passersby who came to the rescue of the victims were shocked when they later discovered that there were some women in the boot of the bus.

Adebimpe, who recounted her ordeal, then narrated to the policemen and other good Samaritans how the kidnappers took them all the way from Lagos to Akwa-Ibom State.

“We had boarded the bus heading to Mile 12, but somehow and mysteriously we found ourselves in Akwa-Ibom State after the bus had an accident and the police came to rescue us. Our abductors even blindfolded us before they threw us in the boot of the bus,” she said.

The women were later taken to a church in the state, while the remains of the kidnapers were deposited at a mortuary in the area.

Abosede has since been reunited with her family.
