I caught my husband sucking my niece’s breast, wife tells court

She had a child for another man under my roof – Husband

housewife, Mrs. Florence Ayansi, has approached a customary court in Igando, Lagos, to dissolve her marriage to her husband, Stanley Ayansi.

While praying the court for separation from her husband, Florence accused Stanley of bringing incessant shame upon her and their children due to his flirtatious attitude in the area.

She accused her husband of engaging in illicit sexual relationship with different women, including her close friends.

Florence further told the court that she once caught her husband sucking her niece’s breast, after catching him sleeping with their housemaid on several occasions.

“My husband is a womanizer. He used to leave me in bed at night and sneak into my maid’s room. I have caught him several times on my maid’s bed, sexually assaulting her. A neighbour approached me and told me to warn my husband to desist from asking her daughter to have love affairs with him. I once caught him sucking the breast of my niece, who is a minor, and he is also fond of wooing my friends,” she said.

Florence also accused her husband of attempting to take her life by poisoning her for complaining too much over his misdeeds.

“There was a time he put poison in my food and I almost died. I was rushed to the hospital by neighbours. When I was diagnosed, it was detected that the food I just ate had been poisoned,” she alleged.

The mother of three further told the court that her husband had, on several occasions, assaulted her physically, especially whenever she complained about his philandeering.

She, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve her marriage with Stanley.

But Stanley, in his defence, told the court that his wife’s allegations against him were false, accusing her of engaging in adultery.

“In January 2017, she came home with a car of N1 million. When I queried her about the source of the car, she claimed she bought it with her money. I disagreed with her, because she was only selling foodstuffs and could never have been able to afford that kind of car,” he said.

The 40-year-old businessman said his wife had moved out of his house for about two years now.

Stanley said, “There was a day, some two years ago, that I came home from work and discovered that my wife had packed all her belongings out with the children to start living with her lover. I called her several times, she refused to pick. But she eventually
picked my call last January and informed me that our last baby she delivered in May 2017 was not mine; that the child belonged to the man she is presently living
with.

“Before she even gave birth and packed out of my house, I always received information from people that they saw my wife in hotels with men, but I always ignored them.”

Stanley also said he had only beaten his wife once, when she stabbed him with a broken bottle.

He, however, asked the court to grant his wife’s wish by dissolving the marriage.

The court President, Mr. Akin Akinniyi, said that there was no other option than to separate the couple and dissolve the marriage.

The court ruled, “Since both parties consented to the dissolution of their marriage, this court has no choice than to dissolve the marriage. The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mrs. Florence Anyasi and Mr. Stanley Anyasi dissolved.

“Both of you, henceforth, cease to be husband and wife; each of you should go his or her separate ways unmolested. The court wishes both of you well in your new journey of life.”

The court granted the custody of the children, aged 10, 8 and 6, respectively, to their mother, the petitioner, pending when they would attain the age of 18 years and decide who to stay
with.

The respondent was also ordered to be responsible for the children’s school fees, medical bills and must pay N15,000 monthly for the children’s feeding, which must be channeled through the
court.
