I know nothing about Avengers, says Ann Kio-Briggs

Foremost Niger Delta Activist, Mrs. Ann Kio-Briggs, has raised the alarm over her safety and that of the others accused of sponsoring the deadly militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers.
Kio-Briggs stated that the group also wanted her and the others mentioned as being connected with the NDA arrested and incarcerated by the Federal Government.
The activist, who was reacting to an allegation by a splinter group of the NDA that herself, former president Jonathan and others had been sponsoring the activities of the NDA, told our correspondent on the phone that such a faceless group should not be taken seriously.
Kio-Briggs also warned the Federal Government, in particular, against believing and acting on the claims by the faceless group in order to avoid a backlash that could affect the administration.
The Niger Delta activist further noted that such unfounded claims from a faceless group could be politically motivated with a view to causing the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to take a wrong step of arresting the persons mentioned by them.
“This is a very serious matter that involves safety and liberty. There are some there who want some of us dead or arrested. I do not see how anybody can come up with that kind of claim. How am I sponsoring a group like the Avengers? “This could have political implication. But The Point is, I want to call on the Federal Government to be very careful with all these statements that are coming out from these faceless people. These are politically disgruntled elements that have no stake in the country or the Niger Delta region. Who are these people?” she said.
The Niger Delta activist further said, “I am Ann kio-Briggs, known all over the world, with all humility. So, when you say Ann kio-Briggs, people know who you are talking about.
These people making these statements are not known by anybody. They are faceless people. They are cowards who have no stake in Nigeria as a country or Niger Delta as a region.
“These people make dangerous statements behind the social media and the newspapers. They should make themselves known. Who the hell are they? The government should be very careful.”
She, therefore, urged the Buhari government to ignore the statements coming from the unknown group and rather concentrate on how to improve the economy of the country.
“The Naira is crashing and the UN is talking about starvation and famine in Nigeria, yet the government is allowing these divide and rule tactics to go on so that people will be distracted. As long as they continue like this, nobody is going to go anywhere.
“I have always stood for justice, peace, equity, development and no amount of intimidation or blackmail or even threat of death or media outcry is going to stop me. These people are fanthom people, they are faceless and nobody should take them seriously. They should make themselves known. How can you believe somebody you do not know? People are claiming to be the Avengers, but does anybody know the Avengers?
“So government should be very careful so that they themselves are not part of those pulling down their own government, because that is what this thing is going to lead to. When you begin to listen to lies that are told by anybody that you cannot identify, then anything can happen.
