I will help Leicester beat drop, says Iheanacho

After four consecutive defeats in the Premier League, Kelechi Iheanacho played a key role as Leicester City returned to winning ways at the weekend, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1.

Matheus Cunha scored the opener inside the first quarter of an hour but the Nigeria international scored a mood changing goal as he converted from the spot to equalize for the Foxes after Jamie Vardy was brought down by the Wolves goalkeeper.

With fifteen minutes left, Timothy Castagne got on the end of Kristiansen’s cross and swept home for the game-winning goal.

Though Leicester City climbed out of the relegation zone with the win, they are fighting for their Premier League survival as they sit 18th in the standings with 28 points, same number of points as Everton, with six games left to play.

This season, Iheanacho has been deployed as a center forward, winger and attacking midfielder by the Leicester City coaches
The Manchester City academy product has underlined that he’s ready to play in the aforementioned positions to help the Foxes in their quest to pick up more points and avoid the drop.

“I don’t mind where I play, whether it’s up front or No.10 or on the wing.

“I just need to help my team to get the points that we need. Together we can do it. We just stick together.

“We are going to enjoy it, but we need to focus on the next game now. Hopefully we keep the momentum going into the next game and keep winning,” Iheanacho said.

The Nigerian international has directly participated in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) in his last eleven games in the English top-flight.
