Iceberg Slim’s career benefits from dating Juliet Ibrahim

For now, the best way to describe the sudden celebrated ‘romance’ between A-list actress, Juliet Ibrahim, and struggling music artiste, Iceberg Slim, is to call it a publicity stunt. And if not, then it’s a repeat of the tragic Toyin Aimakhu and Niyi Johnson affair saga.

Before Johnson began dating Aimakhu and eventually married her, he wasn’t really known. But marrying her shot him to real limelight and then eventually their marriage crashed, as it was obvious it would.

Focus now on Ibrahim and Slim.

Before their purported romance suddenly became public, Slim was just an artist who wasn’t really known and only his association with Tiwa Savage, especially, and other celebrities, was what got him to the sideline of limelight.

The talk about him then was that he was promising, yet he wasn’t breaking through.

On the other hand, Ibrahim was already a big name and is even flying higher.

Now, they claim to be dating, dedicating tattoos to each other, kissing in public, attending marriages and other events together, making it seem their ‘supposed love for each other’ is just a cheap publicity stunt like earlier one between D’Banj and Genevieve, Saeon and Uti as well as Jim Iyke and Nadia Buari.

Now, Slim is benefitting greatly from the romance. His latest single, Oluwa, is trending and spreading faster by the day.

He has had to defend himself against accusations that he has an ulterior motive for being in the relationship. Already, he has said he cared less what people feel about his dating an older and richer woman.

And when he was on the Hip TV programme, Trending, to promote Oluwa, he didn’t seem pleased when the programme’s host began by asking him questions about his relationship with Ibrahim, and when she finally moved on from it to Oluwa, he audibly expressed his joy at speaking about his music over the supposed love of his life.

But whatever it is that’s actually between these two, time will tell, and we can only hope for their sake that they won’t end up like Aimakhu and Johnson, if indeed they’re in love.
