With his affirmation as the duly elected Governor of Abia State in the 2015 general elections by the Supreme Court, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has been further emboldened to push forward his developmental programmes for the state.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Umuahia, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, stated this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Umuahia, the state capital, attributing the verdict to the will of God.
Ukpai said that now that the matter had been laid to rest, the governor would increase the tempo of the programmes to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate in the keenly contested election.
He said, “You will recall that throughout the period of the matter, which had been before a Federal High Court in Abuja and ended last week before the apex court, the governor was never deterred from his focus.”
He expressed appreciation to the electorate and the entire people of the state for voting for the governor in the election, assuring them that Ikpeazu will leave up to their expectations now that the matter was over.
