I’m not just a gospel musician, says Elovian

Eloviano Afakpe, who released her debut album in March, does not see herself as gospel singer even though she sings gospel music.
She explained, “I do inspirational, RnB and soul music. I tell people most times that I am a semi – gospel artiste. My inspiration is from everything around me, my experience and environment.”
Though, her stage name is Elovian, she stated that most people preferred to call her by the title of her debut album, ‘African Woman.’
Born into a Christian family, like most Nigerian musicians, the Delta State indigene first had contact with music in the church.
She explained, “I have been doing music since I was 10. I could remember how my dad usually put me in buses from Agege down to Maryland, Lagos, for children rehearsals. It has been a good experience. I still remember the childhood feeling of holding a microphone and exciting the congregation. It went on till I joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God where I further exhibited my talent .
After concluding her secondary school at Government College, Agege, Lagos, she proceeded to Federal University of Technology, Akure, where she studied Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology.
