India 2022: Olowookere assures on Flamingos

Bankole Olowookere, the head coach of Nigeria’s Flamingo team, has published the final roster for the FIFA U17 World Cup in India and assured Nigerian soccer fans that the team will perform well at the championship.

The coronavirus outbreak caused the world football governing body to cancel the 2020 edition, but India’s status as the host nation was not affected.

The crew has been out camping for the past few weeks, working out together in a series of warm-up activities.

Three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and five attackers make up the final list of 21 players that the coach announced prior to the weekend.

Meanwhile, The Nigerian Flamingoes were hosted by India’s High Commissioner to Nigeria on Thursday as part of the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup preparations.

They visited the High Commissioner, H.E. Gangaharan Balasubramanian, as they remained prepared.

The ambassador took his time to encourage the team members and the support staff to do their best to represent the nation.

Before playing Chile and New Zealand later in the competition, Nigeria will meet Germany in the first game of their group.

Along with debutants Tanzania and Morocco, the Nigerian team is one of the African nations taking part in the biennial competition.

They resoundingly won all of their qualifiers, to book a place in the competition.
