An indigenous car manufacturer, Mr. Ephraim Akwiwu, has raised the alarm that the paucity of fund is threatening the survival of the firms manufacturing cars in Nigeria.

Akwiwu said that the lack of sufficient funds was now threatening the sustainability of the indigenous car manufacturers in the country to an extent that they now found it difficult to replace old and worn out tools and equipment required for the good and attractive finishing of their works.

Speaking in Owerri, Imo State, the indigenous car manufacturer said securing funds for major project had become a huge problem in the nation’s auto industry.

Akwiwu, who trained abroad before returning home to use his talents to impact the society positively, set up a car manufacturing plant where he designs vehicles and builds them.

“Customers have the option of going through the design process and customising their own cars. I am the first car manufacturing firm to provide customisation services in Nigeria,” he said.
