The three members of the Oodua People’s Congress who were detained for their alleged roles in the arrest of Iskilu Wakili, a Fulani herder who reportedly terrorized the inhabitants of Ayete and adjoining communities in Ibarapa, has been released.

The trio, namely Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan, were arrested by the police in March but were later granted bail on health ground.

They were subsequently set free on Tuesday by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

It was disclosed that their release was based on the advise by the Department of Public Prosecution on the grounds that there was no evidence against them.

Following their release from the Agodi Correctional Centre at about 1pm on Tuesday, the trio were led to the office of the state Coordinator of OPC, Rotimi Oguntade, a.k.a Oluomo.
