Iwobi still believes in Arsenal dreams

Nigeria’s striker, Alex Iwobi, has said nothing will make him turn his back on embattled Arsenal Football Club of England manager, Arsene Wenger.

The Super Eagles’ forward said he was ready to defend the Frenchman anywhere, because he believes in his dreams and aspirations.

Iwobi is already looking at the possibility of luring national teammate and Manchester City FC’s hitman, Kelechi Iheanacho, to the Emirates to beef up the team, hoping that he can influence a transfer move for Iheanacho to the North London club.

He feels the Gunners can cash in on the ‘funniest guy he knows,’ but doesn’t see it happening in the coming months. Iwobi has described Wenger as a father figure in his career.

The Nigerian has established himself as a key player in the Arsenal first-team over the past 18 months or so.

Iwobi made his debut in 3-0 win against Swansea City back in November 2015, before going on to rack up two goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.

The Gunners’ boss has been under intense fire this season, following their 10-2 aggregate loss to Bundesliga title holders, Bayern Munich, in the EUFA Champions’ League.

Wenger has yet to confirm whether he will sign a two-year contract extension amid growing unrest amongst Arsenal supporters.
