JUST IN: Communal clash breaks out in Abuja

Several residents have been injured in a communal clash that broke out on Monday in the 3rd Avenue area of Gwarimpa, within the city centre of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Videos of the fracas making the rounds on social media show that the affected area has been thrown into panic.

It was gathered that the clash is between some Gbagyi and Hausa tricyclists.

The unrest was said to have started on Friday before it dragged into the early hours of Monday

A resident of the area said, “Gwarinpa boys and drug dealers continue their clash from Friday until today, Monday. The streets of Gwarinpa blocked this morning. Report has it that two persons have been killed this morning.”

Residents of the area are worried about their safety and have called on the police to intervene and save loss of lives and property.
