A kidnapper, identified as Mohammed Ahmadu, who was kidnapped by his fellow kidnapper, paid N1.5 million to regain his freedom, the Nigerian Police Force disclosed on Monday.

Ahmadu, who was popularly called “Confirm” because he was a reputable marksman in their world, was said to have been kidnapped by Abubakar Umaru, a.k.a. Buba Bargu, who is said to be the third in command of another kidnap syndicate.

Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, who disclosed the kidnap of the kidnapper while parading the duo, along with other criminals, in Abuja, said Ahmadu
was kidnapped when he went to the other camp’s hideout in the forest to sell live ammunition to them.

Buba, according to Mba, is notorious for kidnapping people on the highways around Abuja.

Mba added that the said Buba’s kidnap syndicate was headed by one Buji, who he said had been neutralised by the Police alongside his second in command.

Since Buji’s death, Buba became the leader of the gang and has been notorious for always killing his victims.

The PPRO further disclosed that Ahmadu was shot in the arm when he refused to pay the ransom at first, but was released when his gang members coughed up the money.

Ahmadu narrated how he saved up to N15m from his criminal activities and how his gang once kidnapped 20 victims.

He also said his kidnapper, Buba, had once kidnapped 55 persons from a luxurious bus.
