Kogi Central: SDP candidate drags INEC, APC to court

Following her dissatisfaction over the just-concluded senatorial election in Kogi Central, the Social Democratic Party Senatorial candidate, Barr. Natasha Akpoti, has taken the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC; All Progressives Congress, and the Kogi Central APC senatorial candidate, Alh. Yakubu Oseni, to the electoral tribunal in order to challenge the outcome of the election.
She alleged that the election was rigged in favour of the APC senatorial candidate, Oseni.
Akpoti, while maintaining her resolve in reclaiming her mandate for the people of Kogi Central who massively voted for her, said the journey to reclaim the mandate had officially started.
Charging the people of Kogi Central to remain steadfast, Akpoti noted that “as our journey to reclaim our victory officially starts today, we ask for your steadfastness in prayers and believe in the essence of our reformative journey.”
Natasha Akpoti became the first female senatorial candidate from Kogi Central when she challenged the status quo and decided to throw her hat in the ring against all odds.She will become the first female senator from Kogi State if she is able to reclaim her mandate at the tribunal.
