Kogi decides: Youths troop out to cast votes as poll kicks-off peacefully

Accreditation of voters and voting commenced in many polling units The Point correspondent visited between 8:00am and 9:00 am on Saturday in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State.

The exercise was being done on a peaceful note with voters lining up for the exercise under the watch of security agencies.

There are similar situation in the East and Central Senatorial Districts of the state.

Lokoja is in the West senatorial district of the state.

Various voting centres including Crowther Memorial College Lokoja, polling unit 012, Sabon Gari, Unit 069, Big tree opposite Baptist Plaza, polling unit 068, Open space and Alheri Doctor 011, Ward B among others showed that youths and elderly people trooped out in their number to exercise their franchise.

Security officials have been placed at strategic points across Kogi State to restrict movement as the governorship election goes on.
