The Lagos State Police Command says it has begun investigation into the death of the Assistant General Manager, Electrical Engineering Department, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Lagos, Abdulrahaman Musa.

The police spokesman in Lagos, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday.

Ajisebutu, however, did not give details of the progress of the investigation.

“The case is under investigation at Abattoir Police Division. Arrest is not to my knowledge yet,” he said.

Herienta Yakubu, General Manager, Public Affairs, FAAN, who also confirmed the incident to NAN, said that the management had set up an investigation committee of enquiry on his death.

She declined further information, saying that the incident was with the committee of enquiry and they would await the outcome of the report.

A younger brother to the deceased, Nuhu Momoh, told NAN that the late FAAN staff left his house on Sunday, 31st October, 2021, but did not returned home.

Momoh said that he and the deceased’s wife became worried when it was getting late without him returning home, while his telephone sets were switched off.

He said that they made efforts to trace him and called some of his friends. They later found his car along the old Abeokuta Road, beside Bola Event Center.

Momoh said the deceased was reportedly involved in a mild accident, adding that eye witnesses confirmed that his brother was okay as he came down from the car by himself.

He said that eye witnesses further told them that his brother made efforts to get a towing van to remove the vehicle but could not get any.

Momoh said they were told that his brother then decided to leave and come around the following morning for the vehicle.

“At that moment, a security man at the Oando Filling Station in the area confirmed that the car was dropped with him before his brother left. The security man said that while going, some hoodlums were following him and that was all he knew.

“Although we reported the case at the Abattoir Police Station and the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, we continued our search till we receive a call on Thursday, 4th November.

“The call came from Abattoir Police Station that they got a report of a dead body at Alaramimo Canal. I confirmed that he was the one,” he said.

Momoh urged the police to unravel those behind his brother’s death.
