OSUN State Government has warned indigenes and residents of Kajola Community in Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of the state against further crisis over disputed land.
The government, through the State Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Amidu Tadese Raheem; and Commissioner for Lands, Urban Development and Physical planning, Nathaniel Agunbiade, threatened to jail any erring disputants.
The indigenes and residents of the community have been at loggerheads over some piece of land located in their neighbourhood. It was gathered that the affected residents had fought one another and also threatened not to give up.
To forestall further battle, the two commissioners summoned the affected residents to a peace meeting and also visited the disputed land.
Raheem and Agunbiade urged the warring residents to allow peace to reign in the area by not taking laws into their hands over the land disputes.
During the mediatory inspection visit to the disputed lands in the community, the commissioners frowned at the tension that had enveloped the community, owing to disputes and warned that anybody caught or found trying to cause further chaos would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
While appealing to the feuding parties to bury their differences with immediate effect, Tadese and Agunbiade also enjoined them to make lasting peace.
Leaders and members of Kajola community alongside the disputants who were at the peace meeting commended the peace parley convened by the two commissioners.
They also made a declaration that they would not allow any untoward act leading to the break down of law and order to happen in their community again.
