Lizzy Anjorin: Owo Nairabet’ll rank among best Yoruba films ever produced

Controversial Yoruba actor, Lizzy Anjorin, seems to care less about what people say of her. Last year, in spite of the economic recession, the actor moved into her house in Lekki, Lagos, and shot a movie, Owo Nairabet, which would be premiered in Nigeria on May 6.

In a chat with The Point, Anjorin said she did not just build her house or produce her new movie overnight. According to her, it took hard work and spending quality time in thought processes.

Anjorin also said that her lifestyle was remarkably different from that led by most of her peers in the movie industry, who only live by the day, lavishing money on clothes, jewelleries and hairdos, among others.

The ‘Kofo Tinubu’ star expressed the view that the money most of her colleagues spend lavishly could be used to do something tangible. But most, she reasoned, do not think about the future. “Some women spend money as it comes.

But personally, I do not have anyone to impress and neither do I live a fake life,” she said. Her new movie, Owo Nairabet, Anjorin said, is in a different class compared with other Yoruba productions. “This movie is one of a kind in the history of Yoruba movies. It should be ranked among the best to have come out of Nigeria,” she said.

The actor, who described herself as movie director and script writer, is also into business, designing clothes and selling jewelleries, shoes and bags.
