Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has denied insinuations in some quarters that his administration has not been fair to Muslims in the state.

It was alleged, for instance, that the governor was not considerate to Muslims in the Ogbomoso axis of the state.

Against the insinuation, however, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining religious harmony and peace in the state.

Makinde spoke while delivering an address at the 8th annual Omi Tuntun Ramadan lecture, held at the Government House Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan.

He stated that the people of the Oyo State evolved through a family system that brought Muslims and Christians together in harmonious coexistence.

In his address on the occasion, the governor expressed optimism that the 32km Circular Road in Ibadan, which was abandoned for long, would soon be completed.

Guest lecturers on the occasion, Alfa Uthmah Sannu Sheu; and Chairman, Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing) Prof. Sayeed Malik, lauded Governor Makinde for his visionary attributes.

The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta states, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola, who chaired the event, including former Governor Rasheed Ladoja, acknowledged the governor for his commitment to peace.
