POLICE in Ejigbo, Lagos, have arrested a 40-year-old-man, Itah Ogah, for sodomising a 10-year-old boy and tearing his anus.

Ogah allegedly carried out the dastardly act after luring the minor to a brothel, at Powerline Street, Ejigbo, Lagos.

It was gathered that the minor, who had been referred to Mirabel Centre for urgent attention, sustained tears in his anus as Ogah forcefully penetrated him.

Sources in the area who confirmed the incident said Ogah had lured the minor into taking some alcoholic drink before he forcefully penetrated him.

He was also reported to have allegedly told people he met at the brothel that the minor was his son.

“It is high time the police beamed their searchlight on this area. This area is now a rapists’ den. Recently, a girl was raped to death. Now, it is another man that raped a boy and tore his anus. I believe the police that arrested him will make sure he pays for this,” Akeem, a resident, told The Point.

“The boy’s noise attracted people to the brothel where they caught him in the act. The boy’s mother immediately reported the matter to the police who came to arrest the man. I also learnt that the boy could not walk again. He was carried to the police station with blood in his trouser,” he added.

Another resident who refused to identify himself, said, “The house was not a hotel, but a depot of hoodlums in the area where they perform various atrocities. Ogah lured the boy there and raped him through the anus. He and his colleagues are terrors in this area, especially at night.

“When he was caught in the act, he was threatening those people until the police came for him. The Police should not spare him and his partners in crime.”

A police source, who is not authorised to speak on the matter, confirmed Ogah’s arrest.

“He will be interrogated further on the matter and transferred to SCIID, Panti, before he goes to Court. We are ready to flush them out of this area. No mercy for them,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
