Marry a fan? No Problem. But, he must be rich!

All roads led to Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, recently, as actress Nkechi Emmanuel of ‘Clinic Matters’ hosted her fans to a dinner party. The essence of the party was to “close
the gap between her and her fans.” Emmanuel, a graduate of History and International Relations, explained that most people saw celebrities as semi-gods and untouchable.
“Many fans have been writing me through my social media pages. Some told me they like to see me one-on-on, touch me, take pictures with me or have a date with me. You know it is not possible to honour all these invitations, so I decided to bring all my fans together to meet and dine with them,” she said.
Emphasising the importance of fans in the life of a celebrity, she explained that there would be no fame without the love and support of people. “I am doing this to bridge that gap and be able to give my fans a sense of belonging.”
How would Emmanuel react if she finds love with any of her fans? The pretty actress informed that it would not be out of place so long the person is not poor. An indigene of Anambra, Emmanuel expressed the view that love has noboundary.

“If I fall in love with a fan, of course nothing stops me from marrying him. The person I am seeing right now is also my fan in a way, because he loves what I do 100 per cent and
supports me.
“But I cannot marry a poor man. Riches with prospect is good, but being poor with prospect would not work. Also, my man must be God fearing, intelligent, handsome
and focused,” she said.
