Students from Mbaise Clan under the umbrella of Federated Union of Mbaise students, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Chapter, have pledged their unalloyed support to the government of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.

They did on Tuesday when they defiled the heavy downpour in Owerri to pay a solidarity visit to the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku, their kinsman.

The executive members of the Mbaise students’ body led by their president, Olechuru Christian Miracle, said they have been following the leadership style of Governor Uzodimma since he assumed office and were convinced that the governor meant well for Imo State.

They noted that Governor Uzodimma’s programmes for the youths are second to none, pledging to support in their little way to propagate the gains of the 3-R mantra of the administration both in Mbaise in particular and Imo State in general.

The president said: “It is incumbent on us to support Chief Nwachuku, who is not just their our own that the Governor has entrusted with the task of managing his image, but the entire administration because the government is doing well.”

He added: “So far the Governor’s image makers have shown some degree of maturity in the way they do their job as against what used to happen in Imo State with previous administrations.”

The students further solicited the support of the government in areas that will enhance their study such as bursary, accommodation, electricity, provision of water among others.

Responding, Nwachuku thanked the students for finding time to visit him to express their feelings about Uzodimma’s administration.

He reminded them that Governor Uzodimma means well for the entire Imo citizenry and has particular passion for programmes that would enable the youths realise their full potential in life in whatever area of their choice that is positive.

Nwachuku advised the students to take their studies seriously and shun cult activities, banditry, armed robbery, kidnapping, fraud, and other forms of criminality capable of stalling their future destiny.

He promised to assist them in whatever way reasonable to ensure that they become responsible members of the society.

Other members of the students’ body drawn from the three local government areas that make Mbaise on the visit were: Enyeribe Victor, Ndubuisi Chinenye, Ogu Clinton and Enyeribe Evans.
