Militants invade Lagos community, shoot at residents

Hell was let loose in Igando area of Lagos on Tuesday when persons believed to belong to the Niger Delta militants group, invaded Ewedogbo community and killed many residents.
A resident of the community, Wale Olalekan, who spoke with our correspondent from the community via the telephone, explained that the community had been on fire since the arrival of the militants at about 12 pm.
He added that several people were injured while running for their lives when the August visitors arrived and started shooting at sight.
It was further learnt that the incident had since turned the community to a ghost community as people have either deserted it or stayed indoors.
“Please, help us call emergency line right now, Ewedogbo area of Igando, along LASU road, is on fire. Militants are killing right now. No one can call or go out, I am an eye-witness. Please, help us spread the information,” a text message from another resident to our newsroom read.
