‘Models Not Prostitutes’ series set for release

Aseries, based on the ill treatments of models, ‘Models Not Prostitutes,’ will hit the screen soon.

Speaking at the unveiling of the winners of Models On The Island 3, one of the organisers, Emmanuel Etim, insisted that the campaign, ‘Models Not Prostitutes,’ carried out last year, had not been neglected as the company would soon release a movie in that direction.

He stated, “The movie is titled, ‘Models Not Prostitutes,’ and it will be released as a series to enlighten models and make them know their stands. We’ve shot episode 1 to 5 and the next would be 5 to 10.It would be a continuous project to make sure people around the world know that models are different from prostitutes’ .

Etim said that this year’s MOTI was highly competitive than the previous editions.

“This year’s contest was wonderful. 120 persons applied, 40 persons were evicted and 80 persons made it to the camp.

This platform is for youths to develop themselves.”

The newly crowned MOTI’s queen, Joy Oyakhiomen, told journalists that she would be focusing on widows who couldn’t afford three square meals a day.

“In Nigeria today, models always want to do a project after they have won their beauty pageant, they always want to help the less privileged. But I plan to change it. This time I plan to do a project for the widows. I would like to introduce a skill acquisition programme where they can learn how to make hair, among others. After the period of six months, we would give them money to set up their own businesses so that they would be able to cater for their families,” she said. The king, Kenneth Nwugu, advised up-and-coming models to remain focussed in spite of the challenges that might come their way.

He described the experience in the camp as tasking, insisting that he had to do a lot of things that he was not really used to. “I wake up very early to do some exercise and still come back to receive seminars.”

He added that he plans to help the less privileged, especially children on the streets. “It touches me when I go out there and see children begging for food and alms,” he said.

Face of Ghana, Bainca Chuks and Face of Nigeria, Chisom Louisa, among others, were also unveiled.
