Murder: Police restores peace in Abagana community

Following the violence caused by the killing of an aide to the assistant of the renowned business mogul, Prince Arthur Eze, Mr. Chinenye Ikedimma, the men of The Nigeria Police Force have assumed duty to restore peace in the Umudunu village, Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.

About six unknown gunmen invaded the community around 11pm on Saturday November 26, 2016 and killed Ikedimma and injured others.

The corpse has been deposited at Bekee Hospital mortuary, Nimo, while sympathisers were trooping into the deceased’s residence to console relatives. His sister, Ms. Ijeoma, who was weeping uncontrollably, lamented that her brother returned from the neighbourhood without a premonition of the impending danger.

Sources in the village, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the killing might not be unconnected to the ongoing communal battle between Abagana and Ukpo communities over a piece of land, which claimed scores of lives and property worth several millions of Naira.
