Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command have apprehended one Sola Jimoh for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
However, the 24-year-old suspect, claimed he was revenging the disappearance of his motorcycle.
A statement issued by Kehinde Adeleke, spokesperson of the command on Friday, disclosed that Jimoh left his home in a town near Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Christmas day, December 25, 2024, at 6 am, and travelled down to Osogbo, with the intention of stealing a motorcycle.
“Jimoh confessed that when he got to Osogbo, he found a motorcycle parked under a tree at Powerline, with no one around. He quickly took the motorcycle, but the owner soon discovered the theft and reported it to the nearest NSCDC office. The suspect was apprehended while trying to escape with the stolen motorcycle,” Adeleke said.
The Commandant of the state NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo, said the suspect explained that his motorcycle was stolen in September 2024, which led him to seek revenge by stealing another motorcycle.
Sotiyo assured the public that Jimoh would be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction where his fate would be determined.
The commandant also urged the public to provide actionable intelligence to the nearest security agency to prevent crime and criminality.
