NABTEB calls for establishment of more training centres

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has called on all tiers of government to establish more technical and vocational education training centres to attain sustainable development, empower youth and tackle unemployment and youth restiveness.

The Chief Executive Officer, NABTEB , Prof. (Mrs) Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, said, “The Federal, State and Local Governments should give priority to technical vocational education training as the bedrock for sustainable development and an instrument for fighting poverty, unemployment and youth restiveness.”

According to her, such initiative requires massive investments and mobilisation of the entire citizenry, institutions and corporate bodies using all available medium and instruments.

She added, “Federal and State Governments should establish more Federal Science and Technical Colleges and Government Technical Colleges, respectively, especially where there is a need as urged by the National Council on Education.
