A young man, identified as Eedris Dasilva has been allegedly killed by an officer of the Nigerian Air Force Command in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.
Dasilva was stabbed to death by the NAF Officer whose name was unknown last weekend with a knife.
The Point gathered that Dasilva, aged about 30 years, was acting under the influence of suspected hard drugs when he started assaulting the military personnel.
They were among other Air Force officers who attended a show organized by some students of Osun State University, Osogbo campus at Theology Field, school road, Oke-Baale, Osogbo.
It was gathered that the students invited Peller, a comedian and content creator to the show to entertain the audience.
Dasilva, said to be under the influence of a hard substance known as colos, started behaving strangely and violently at the social event.
Witness account revealed that Dasilva suddenly picked up a club and approached one of the Air Force officers who were on a mufti at the event.
He made an attempt to hit him with the stick but some of his friends stopped him.
The tall young man with dreadlocks was said to have resumed his attempted attack on this particular NAF Officer.
Provoked by his determination to attack him, the military man picked a knife from his trousers and stabbed Dasilva at his stomach and chest.
Immediately, the victim fell down and bled to death.
“None of us could save his life because the soldier and his colleagues watched him till he breathed his last. We had been warning Dasilva to stop assaulting the soldier. We asked him if there was something the soldier did to him but he didn’t say anything. It was at this point we sensed that he could be reacting under the influence of colos.
“The soldier could not endure his disturbance and excesses again, he picked a knife that was beside his pocket and stabbed him in his stomach and chest. We couldn’t attack the soldier because he was with two of his colleagues. After they discovered that Dasilva had died, they left the show.
“We were so afraid to come closer to him because there was tension at the show as everybody started running away. Few minutes later, a team of policemen came and picked his corpse,” the witness told The Point.
The Point also gathered that Dasilva’s remains were recovered from the police and that he had been buried according to Islamic rite.
The deceased, an indigene of the state was said to have been the one taking care of his aged grandmother.
